C1 OC Becoming a podcaster

Becoming a podcaster (scroll down for the answers)

Last year, while sorting through old notebooks, I hit on an idea that had been buried in my mind for years: creating a podcast exploring forgotten inventions that shaped modern life. One _________ example was an early version of the electric bicycle, designed in the 1890s: a fascinating forerunner of today’s e-bikes.

______ first, I wasn’t sure I was the right person for the job. I’d always loved research, but I’d never done anything with audio. Still, I knew my background in history and storytelling would stand ________ in good stead. What I didn’t expect was the phenomenal interest the podcast __________ receive. Within weeks, I had listeners from over 30 countries and messages pouring in with ideas for new episodes.

The role of forgotten inventions in shaping society became the central theme of the show. Surprisingly, many creators had been completely unsuited to business and marketing, __________ is probably why their brilliant ideas were overlooked. Their stories raised many unanswered questions about recognition and legacy.

I kept telling myself I’d add transcripts and bonus content, but I never quite _________ around to it. That is, until I accidentally deleted an episode and had to re-upload everything. Luckily, it only took a matter ________ minutes, but the scare gave me the push I needed to stay organised.

________ started as a random idea became a passion project, and maybe even a career.
